Alone on earth

Hello again everyone, in todays' blog I am going to talk about of what would I do if I am alone on earth.

One day I woke up and there was nobody at home, I didn't mind, but then I realized that there was nobody on the streets, on the shops, there was nobody on earth!.
I didn't really know what happened, but I was a bit scared. It seemed like I was going to be alone for a long long time, because there was no sign of humans arround town.
I am thinking how there is nobody on the whole planet, I can go to every supermarket picking things to eat like chocolates, candys, french fries and all food and things you can imagine, and it does not matter because it is free!.
If I find other survivors I would kill them to have the entire planter just for me, I could attack them with tanks and weapons that I picked before on the military bases. Maybe I would keep a survivor girl to have it as my girlfriend and have fun.
And that is what would I do if I found myself alone on earth.

This photograph was taken by a classmate that we call "tata”. It is me and some of my classmates around a larch tree (Fitzroya cupressoides) that was over a thousand years, and I say "WAS" because the tree it is located in the national reserve Llanquihue near to the Calbuco vulcano that erupted like six or seven months ago, so that tree it is probably burned or buried by the volcanic materials.

This picture was taken in January, like three months before the Calbuco eruption. We were doing the university summer practice.

I really like this photo because it was a long trip through the forest to get to that larch tree, although it was a really exhausting trip, I loved the landscapes we saw and the nature was so amazing to see and study. I also like this picture because I am with my university mates that has become my friends.

I feel really fortunate because I knew that place before the natural catastrophe that maybe buried all the nature nearby the volcano. It will take so many years and generations to the nature to come back to its previous state.

My favourite music

Hello again everyone.

in today's blog I am going to talk about the music that I like.

I do not really have a preferred specific kind of music, I like almost every kind of music, from bachata to heavy metal, but obviously there is an order of my preferences.

I really think that musical preferences depends of the emotional moment of the person.

For example when I am happy I listen to happy music, and the same when I am sad, etc.

Today I'm listening to Guachupé, a Chilean band that mixes different types of musics like ska, Latin rock and cumbia. The band was created in 1999 in Santiago, when four friends from the school "Liceo Lastarria" started to play music together.

This band is really popular  by the young people because of its powerful live concerts.

Another music group that I am currently listening is "Bloque Depresivo". The vocalist is Aldo "macha Asenjo" a singer from another band called " Chico Trijullo" 

Their music is kind of  sad songs and covers of sad songs.

They cover many old singers like Chavela Vargas, Josè Josè, etc.

My Future Job

Hello again everyone!
In today's blog I will be talking about a future job I would like to have.

In the future, I would like to have a job that I can enjoy doing it, maybe something related with my hobbies, or related to what I am studying, forestry.
I would like to have an outdoor job, like being in the field all day and not having to be in the office, that would be great!.
The job that I am thinking is something like "Forest and wildlife Photographer", because the photograph is one of my biggest hobbies, and forestry is what I am studying. Maybe it sounds a little weird, but it would be nice to combine those two fields that I like and create a job of it.

With this job I would like to travel a lot arround the world, visiting every forest in every country, to take photographs and study all the diferents kinds of vegetation, and maybe in the future make a book of all my research and adding all the photos I have taken.

This is a photo of a forest of Roble de santiago (Nothofagus macrocarpa) a sub-specie of Roble (Nothofagus obliqua). This forest is located in a hill known as "Cerro el Roble" in Santiago, the capital of Chile.
This is a deciduous tree, and because of that all the leaves are in the ground and not in the branches.

A country I'd like to visit

Hello everyone!, Today I'm going to talk about A country I would really like to visit 

Italy in just one of the countries I'd like to visit because there are so many cities and places to go, with lots of museums, churches and interesting places.

I know so many things about Italy because my uncle lives there. For example I know that in Rome, the capital.you can find the Colosseum, The Vaticano city, and the trevi fountain or in italian "Fontana di Trevi". This last one it is a really famous fountain, with lots of sculptures in it.

Another reason why I would like to go to Italy is the food, specially the pizza. So first I would go to a nice restaurant to eat pizza. Then I Would go to all the atractions in Rome. After that I would visit the other cities of italy like Florence, Venice and Sicily.

In Italy I just want to go on tour, and I do not want to work or study, because I want to use all my time traveling arround Italy and its cities.

My hobbies - Free post N°3

When I have free time I like to do so many things that sometimes the time it is not enough.
One of my favourite things to do is to photograph, I like to watch photos and make them. I recently got my first digital camera, and I am really happy with it because I can make photos of what I want and when I want. One day I know I will live of this, but in the meantime I have to study :( .

Anothe thing that I like to photograph are the birds!, I saw this one flying from tree to tree and he gave me the time to take him a photo. It was just so amazing that, in some way he knew that I was watching him and tying to take a picture.

His common name is "Cachudito" or "torito" because of his sort of horns made of hair. And his scientific name is Anairetes parulus.

My favourite movies - Free post N°2

I am not that kind of people that go crazy by films, but there are a couple of movies that deserve to be mentioned in my blog.
The first one is called "Inception" . It is about a thief who steals corporate secrets through use of dream-sharing technology. The topic of the movie is really interesting an catchy or at least for me.

One of the things that I like more about this movie is the soundtrack made by Hans Zimmer. The songs made this movie really fun to watch. I think I am a fan of Hans Zimmer's job.

The other movie is a recent one, it is called "Interestellar" .It's about an ex NASA pilot that need to save the planet, his family and the human race of its extintion. Although it is a little too much science fiction I have always thought that it's possible to go to other galaxies and travel to another dimensions like the time as a dimention.

My favourite foods

I am a person that really love to cook but more thant cooking i like to eat!, I would eat all day if I could. well..., maybe i am exaggerating a little bit.

My big favourite meal of all time is the Chorillana.

It consist in fried potatoes and many types of meat like pork, beef and sausages with onion, garlic, and chili pepper.

It is a really big plate, usually for two people but I can eat it by myself.

Another food that I love and can't stop eating is the

Sushi! I can't stop eating it! and with this I am not exaggerating because there ir a lot of variety, flavors and ingredients. One of the most delicious is the one that is fried with salmon, white cheese and avocado and another nice thing are the deeping soy sauce and the bittersweet sauce.

In this website you can check the current scientific name of almost any plant

Also you can find 4 buttons at the end of the page that you can use to make an specific search between: Flowering plants, Conifers and cycads, Ferns and Ferns allies and Mosses and liveworts.

The plant list contains 642 plant families and 17,020 plant genera.

In my career I have to visit this page really often because I work a lot with plants and I need to check the names because they change frequently.

I really like this website because it is easy to manage and you can find a almost any scientific name that you search.

This page is used by many teachers, students and scientifics too. The website have other websites “competitors” like www.tropicos.org , but they are not as good and updated as the plant list website.

My favourite piece of technology

My favourite piece of technology is my computer. My big brother gave it to me when I was 10 as a present for my birthday.

I can use my PC for playing and for working too, so it is a very useful tool.

I use it almost everyday when I arrive home from university for about 2 or 3 hours.

I really like it because I can use it for lots of things like listening to music, watching videos, editing photos and videos, but mainly for playing videogames and chatting with my friends online.

I honestly do not imagine a life without my PC because nowadays you always have to use softwares like Microsoft Office Word or Excel to do works from university.

My spectatios for this period

This semester, I am doing the subjects “trees growth” and “ecosystem comprehension” at university. I think that they are really important terms for my career because it helps me to understand forests better.
As an extracurricular activity I’m playing football at the university, I think I am really good in it and it’s good for my health.
Currently I’m doing an elective subject called “Carbon footprint”. It is a really interesting thing to study and also important for my career.
Sincerely this term at the university has been a little bit annoying because I do not like mathematics and I have that subject. So I really want to finish this period as soon as possible

My Autobiography

Hi my name is Esteban and i'm 20 years old.

i was born in 1995 in Punta Arenas, Chile. I lived there until i was 5. then me and my family moved to Santiago and I’ve been living here until today

My family is composed by me, my fathers, my two brothers and my little sister

We are really attached to each other.

I studied the primary and secondary school at the same school, named Nazaret de la Florida until 2013. Currently I’m studying forestry at the University of Chile.

My hobbies are playing guitar, playing videogames and also playing football.
